Let me start with asking you some unusual questions: Have you ever slept on the street? Have you ever scavenge for food in the garbage? Or have you ever had to eat rotten food and drink contaminated water? Why did Jesus start his mission on this earth with the following words, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor…” (Luke 4: 18)
Every time when we go to the slums of Delhi, the capital of India, our hearts are broken to see how the people live there. You can see open sewages, and dirtiest pigs, and people defecating in open. The indescribably stinky, hot and humid air is filled with flies. And you need to be careful to keep your mouth shut, not to swallow one of the flies accidentally while talking.
Why do we go there? What’s the point? Because the harvest is there. “Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith…” (James 2: 5) If not we, then who? It was not too difficult for Jesus to leave the glory of heaven, come into this sinful world and die on the cross for our sins. It should not be too difficult for us to leave our comfort zone, and go to the brokenhearted and rejected people with a message of God’s love and forgiveness.
Apostle Paul is admonishing us that the time is short and the days are evil. It seems like you have plenty of time to fulfill your dreams and do something really significant, but suddenly you discover that unique opportunities that were given to you are gone forever, and there is no time left.
For more than 10 years we are ministering in India, year by year, making the best use of every opportunity to reach the unreached and bring hope to the brokenhearted. We continuously move forward and don’t want to put a limit on what we can do. We keep trusting God that He will provide for each of our children’s projects.
$10,000, $20,000 or $30,000 – is it a lot or is it little? If this would be a ransom for someone’s soul, do you think we could raise these funds quickly? We keep starting new projects and we need your help to finish the constructions. Could you please stop right now and ask God, if He would like to use you personally to help us give home to the homeless and orphan children?
Because of you, a child will no longer sleep on the street. Because of you, a child will no longer scavenge for food in the garbage. Because of you, a child will no longer eat rotten food and drink contaminated water. Because of you Jesus’ mission will keep being fulfilled, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” (Luke 4: 18)
